Friday 18th July 2025

Friday 18th will see Just A Cappella get things swinging in from 3pm. This award-winning Hemel Hempstead group are an ensemble of stellar vocalists who can’t wait to bring you hits from the 30’s to the modern, with everything in between!
Expect performance of Queen, Fleetwood Mac, Ed Sheeran and so much more
Our Friday special guest, actress Rosie Marcel will lead a public ‘CHEERS!’ at 6pm, followed shortly after by a cider talk and tasting (ticketed) with the Chiltern Cider Company. Known for her longstanding role as Jac Naylor in BBC One’s Holby City, Rosie has graced television sets and silver-screens alike, appearing in the likes of Bergerac, The Bill and Marvel’s ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’.
The epic Bierkeller Brass will headline the evening at around 7pm. Bierkeller Brass are a local Oompah outfit specialising in Germanic bandstand classics and cheesy brit-pop covers (as is tradition at Bavarian beer festivals). Expect everything from classic melodies through drinking songs and then right into Abba, Oasis and Muse.

The beer festival’s second day enjoys an official opening by the Mayor of Dacorum no less!
Newly proclaimed Mayor, Cllr Catherine McArevey, will provide a ceremonial ‘opening of the bar’, before leading a public ‘CHEERS!’ with a brief speech shortly thereafter.
Our Saturday session also ushers in the return of the much demanded Happy Helly Choir – performing early afternoon.
The local vocal group, based just down the road in Boxmoor, will be swinging and serenading the vistas of St. Mary’s Church.
A staple of Hemel Old Town Beer Festival, vocalist Sian Turner headlines later in the evening, starting the anthems at 8pm.

Sunday 20th July 2025

Session opens : 12 noon
Our final day, FAMILY DAY (under-18s admitted free of charge), starts with the appropriately ecclesiastical, dulcet tones of St. Mary’s Church resident organists, performing renditions of contemporary hits.
As is tradition, more ecclesiastical flourishes occur with Bishop Rob Wickham, CEO of the Church Urban Fund, arriving to bless the beer casks (yes, you read that right!) at roughly 2pm.
Last but not least, Hemel Rock Choir will act as our final live music act of the weekend, performing well known tunes from a range of decades, an impressive yet chilled out high note to see out our 2025 event at St. Mary’s. If the bar has not already sold out, the venue will close at at 6pm.
