FAQS

THE WHAT’S, WHEN’S, WHERE’S, WHO’S AND WHY’S..

What?
Hemel Old Town Beer Festival is a three day event that offers thirty quality beers, cider and perry, live music and street food vendors to boot.

Special guest speakers mark each day, with a historic environment indoors PLUS luscious outside beer-garden area with vista views of Gadebridge Park.

When?
The Hemel Old Town Beer Festival 2026 will be held across the weekend of Friday 17th, Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th of July. Our Friday and Saturday sessions will open midday-22:30, and our Sunday session will be midday-18:00.

Where?
The Hemel Old Town Beer Festival is set in the beautiful, historic St.Mary’s Church. Located between the Old Town’s bustling High Street and the scenic Gadebridge Park, St. Mary’s is thought to be the oldest building in all of Hemel Hempstead. The postcode of our Grade-1 listed venue (built sometime before the postcode in 1140) is HP1 3AE.

Who?
The Hemel Old Town Beer Festival is a joint not-for-profit event, co-organised by St. Mary’s Church and Mid-Chilterns CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale). To find out more about the Campaign for Real Ale please CLICK HERE. To find out more about St. Mary’s Church please CLICK HERE.

Why?
Community. As a not-for-profit event, any surplus made from the festival goes towards the church and its affiliated charities, and protecting/promoting local pubs. Last year, Hemel Old Town Beer Festival raised £7,123 for our nominated causes.

Other essential info..
Both our Friday (17/7) and Saturday (18/7) are adult only events, as such admittance will be granted to those over-18 only. Our Sunday (19/7) session is ‘Family Day’, with anyone under-18 welcome and admitted free-of-charge.

Dogs are admitted, though are requested to be kept on a short lead where possible, and are advised to kept in-and-around the outside beer-garden (where is much more space for the safety of pets and humans).

Food and music is kindly curated by Hemel Old Town Market, with a full roster to be announced in the run up to the festival. For further updates please do subscribe to our social media channels.

Our beer and cider list will be announced in the run up to the festival. For further updates, again please follow us on socials.
